PURPOSE

The Nishnabotna Conservation Foundation (NCF) was organized to support environmental education in Shelby and Audubon Counties.  Membership in the foundation provides funding for programs, exhibits and other environmental activities for children and adults.  With your support the NCF will improve the quality of environmental education throughout both counties.

History

The Nishnabotna Conservation Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation formed in 2006.  The mission of the thirteen member board is to support the efforts of the Shelby and Audubon County Conservation Departments as they strive to improve the quality of life for visitors and citizens of Shelby and Audubon Counties.  Together with its members, friends and volunteers, the NCF is working diligently to enhance conservation, environmental education, outdoor recreation and facilities for everyone.

Why should I become a

NCF member?

The foundation is a support group assisting the Shelby and Audubon County Conservation Departments in their activities, programs, promotions, public relations, fundraising, developmental projects and the accomplishments of their goals. Foundation members will have the satisfaction of being involved in the enhancement of natural resources, parks, activities, and recreation areas.  There are many people that have time, expertise, talents, experience, or money that can be used to benefit NCF.  Becoming a member of the NCF is a wonderful way to contribute to this exciting venture.  In addition to having the satisfaction of being part of a worthy cause, members will receive a subscription to the Conservation Boards’ quarterly newsletter Nature’s Niche, invitations to special events and programs, and a conservation patch.  Each membership receives voting privileges and eligibility to serve on the Board of Directors.
